| After talking with lola today, I think it was decided that she and I will be taking up most of the duties for the Lolalite Awards.
Here's some issues that need to be taken care off:
(1) A Name. We need to find a name for the award (like the Tony's or the Houndies, for instance). Lola was thinking something in Latin since it seems to be our language of superiority, but neither of us could think of a name. Comment if you have some ideas.
(2) Nominations/Catagories. We're going to need to think up the catagories. They need not be restricted to lolalite events or people or occurances, such as a catagory for "Best Honorary Lolalite." People/Places/Things can always win them if they aren't there. I'd like input from everyone, but since we want some suspense, people should email me their ideas for catagories and once they're decided on, I will post them on LJ. Then, people can send me nominations for those catagories. For example, "Most Outragous College Freshman Year Expirience." We'll work out how winners are choosen later. Send suggestions for catagories to djprocaccini@loyola.edu .
(3) If you have further suggestions, feel free to comment. As lola's nifty schedule says, the Lolalite Awards will be given out the same night as the Tony's.

| Quite a bit to fill in from this weekend.
Saturday was Craig's Fest. Craig's Fest = 300 person party from 2pm-about 3am. Awesome time. I would elaborate, but since none of you really know the people or the place, it wouldn't matter. Just know i had a good time.
Sunday was loyolapalooza. Chris Carraba from Dashboard Confessional was the main act, with Straylight Run and a local band called Geary for President. Chris was pretty awesome and the others were good enough. The quad was filled with the carnival blow up things which made for an interesting time...watching girls get hurled threw the air by bungee cords strapped to their backs. The best part was the pirate ship that brought in - the one that swings until you are pratically perpendicular to the ground. Two of my roommates almost threw up, but I loved it. The carnie who operated it was kinda weird, but aren't they all? Topping out sunday was the primere of FAMILY GUY!!! I have to say, I was quite pleased. I won't spoil it for chris, who i believe hasn't seen it yet, but all i have to say is "Let he who has no sinned kick the first ass!"
Lola and Elise (i don't know if anyone else was involved, but if you were this is for you too), the invitations are AWESOME. I'm very excited for the ball. I didn't realize the day we changed it to was a friday, so I actually will be working until about 5 unless I can pull out early (and since i work for the state, that's entirely possible). I will should be able to make it home/change in time, but i don't know if I will be there to set up. i'm sure you guys could handle it.
This week has lots of free stuff and bbq's up the ass. Virtually every department and organization had one. This means i won't have to eat at primo's much at all. Yay for me. Tonight is the english dept. (always a good time), the fine arts department, AND alpha house. I probably will eat appetizers at one, an entree at another, and desert at the last. :)
Classes ended today. I'll be home one week from tomarrow. | comments: Leave a comment |

| yesterday i got exempt from my civil liberties final. yay for me! this means i can come home one day earilier. other than that, I havn't got much to write about. Gratz to chris for winning sound designer of the year at naz! Oh, I also found out that Ryan Sekac is definately coming here next year. That should be fun. I realize it probably wasn't his first choice (in fact I know it wasn't), but I think he'll have a good time here anyway. For some reason i still don't picture him as an engineering major - not that he isn't amazing at math or its not what I think he wants to do - just I think I see more of the world conquering tyrant in him that wouldn't be content with just that.
Anyway, that's about it. I'm going out for steamed crab tonight with my cousins and then studying for my philosophy final.
By the way, Ashley - Smith came up again in Civil liberties. We analyzed your non-descrimination policy in its context at an all-female college. I though you'd be happy to know we found it perfectly sound as far as we could tell. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| Here's to you and here's to me! The best of friends we'll ever be! And if someday we should disagree, Go fuck yourself, and here's to me!
(evergreen players official toast)
Suffice it to say I said that many, many times last night. I promise this will be my last entry about evergreen players for a while, but i feel i need to wrap up the week. Fucking jepoardy sealed by fate for not being freshman of the year, but an awesome time was still had by all. This kid named Kevin won, and he deserved it for knowing that much usless information about alumni and EP theatre history. I was just glad i came in 5th over all and that the bitch loraine didn't win. :) Last night was the Houndies, which was a riotous good time (to see the advertisement from some broadway show) and I got to meet alot of famous alumn I'd been hearing about for two weeks now, like Dierdre Mullins, the middle finger of loyola theatre, Kevin Poll, the infamous fountain of tequilla, and Johnny B., who is just an awesome human being. I was actually amazed at how many alumn came back. This year's statues were made of rubber ducks. I was nominated for best costume for the Wall in Midsummer, but lost to the Lion. Anyway, to finish up, next week is the EP bbq with new officer elections and that'll do it for this year and you guys won't have to read any more entries about them until next year...
I was very exicted to learn that ryan sekac is probably coming here next year, even though he doesn't seem so hot about it.
Off to study for my last test before finals! 17 days remain total, with weekends. | comments: Leave a comment |
| I woke up this morning to hear a very interesting story.
The Backstory:
There is this african american junior from Rochester named Ean. He acts kind of effeminately and kinda of has a lisp, but he is really cool and we hang out with him all the time. Now, i'm not generally in the business of guessing at someone's sexuality, however after a couple of comments here and there combined with his feminin mannerisms, our whole apartment was wondering if he was gay, but in lolalite style, no one wanted to ask directly. According to Ean, he has been with at least several women and was even rejected once because he was "too large". Anyway, my roommate Sal, who had a completely untrue rumor circulated that he was gay, asked this girl meg because she is friends with his best friend Albie, who should know. Meg says she's not telling him anything either way and goes and tells Albie who tells Ean that Sal was asking if he was gay.
This morning:
Apparently at about 3AM Ean said he needed to talk to Sal. Ean told him that he heard he was asking about him, but that he thought Sal was gay and looking to see if he was because he was attracted to him. If Sal was gay, it wouldn't matter and of course they'd still be friends. Sal was of course speechless, and said again he wasn't gay, then asked Ean if he was, which he never clearly answered. Now, none of you have met Sal, but he is defiantely NOT gay (i've been in the damn room when he's had sex) There is no doubt he is a straight man. So, we naturally keep busting on Sal, and Ean keeps calling him wanting to talk. The whole situation has gotten more and more hilarious as it escalates and even if Ean is gay it wouldn't matter at all.
Personally, I don't think he is, but that's not the point. I've just wanted to break into song and sing "If you were gay" all day long, plus i've thought of scarlet on the roof of chris's car singing "If I were gay." The whole situation has gotten the the point of a comedy of errors. | comments: Leave a comment |

| Sooo tired...must make coffee. Long-ass day.
When i was giving blood today, i couldn't stop thinking about dracula when ryan broke the transfusion device. I kept imagining the bag breaking and the woman coming over and going "DAMN!" so i could respond soooo eloquently with "Will it still work doctor?!" That amussed by while life drained out my arm. But heck, like my t-shirt says, I saved 3 lives today!
Here's my planned schedule for next year. I think it rocks, but it could change if when i register shit isn't open. But i am a future POTUS...that won't happen. riiiiiight. i'll keep telling myself that. I am very stream-of-conciousness today, aren't I?
Monday, Wednesday, Friday:
PS 343.01: Crime, the Individual, and Society (9 AM) DR 251.01: Expirience of Theatre (with the fucking hilarious Jim Bunzli) (10 AM) EN 310.01: Shakespeare I (11 AM)
Tuesday, Thursday:
CS 111.08: Intro. to Computers and Software Applications (to avoid taking another math or hard science) (10:50 AM)
PS 380.01: Platonic Political Philosophy (with the awsome Dr. Michael Franz) (1:40 PM)
I have a hilarious survey i was given by the psych. department for someone's case study i will post soon...right now i have to go read paradise lost. Satan has such good lines! | comments: Leave a comment |

| Let's talk about the crazy week coming up because Dan feels like posting but doesn't have anything more interesting to write about:
Monday: I have to present a 40 line scene memorized in spanish followed by an exceedingly difficult test in Literary History.
Tuesday: Giving a tour for admissions to a group of guidence coulselors from around the country. Hoping one from La Salle shows up. Someone should find out for me. Meeting with my advisor to do my schedule for next semester (which right now looks god-like in my opinion, participating in a focus group for the communications department to score free dinner, and letting them suck a pint of blood out of me for the red cross because i am a nice guy like that.
Wednesday: Nothing special, thank god.
Thursday: My massively important Appellate Brief is do in Civil Liberties and I have to go register for the classed i picked on Tuesday.
Friday: I seem to think i have something to do and forgot to put it on my wall calandar. oh well.
Saturday: Tours for Admission's Accepted students day.
Next weekend I am seeing little shop of horrors which makes me happy. | comments: Leave a comment |
| it's sooo nice out! i have decided spring, in addition to fall, is my other favorite season. Screw the cold winter and the hot summer. These two are just right. My, my, i sound like goldielocks!
My cousins took me out for dinner last night in the inner harbor and it was quite delicious. I highly recommend Orange Roughie stuffed with maryland crab and broiled to a golden brown with a side of mashed potatoes and asparagus. Mmmmm. My cousin mark aparnetly raced my english professor (who is about 65-70) in the pool when he was here and beat him. I plan to take full advantage of this information during class on monday. And his wife lauren is so funny - during dinner she started squerming around and making weird faces and breathing hard and none of us knew what the hell was going on. It turns out she had an extemely painful charlie horse in her leg and was trying to be discrete. It was most amusing but i felt bad because she is soooo nice. The lolalites would approve.
My dad sent my pictures of the new car. I will try and post them when i can get to a scanner. We'll figure out a name when I start driving it methinks since i need to get a feel for it. I also believe i will be posting rather amusing pictures of me in a sombrero from last night. | comments: Leave a comment |

| iiiiiiit's easter! yay for Jesus!
I feel so distressed...i ate too much. Specifically, too much pie, but that's what holidays are for i guess. I feel like the fat stewie in family guy when he broke his high chair.
In fact, much of this vacation revolved around eating, the highlight of course being visiting Ryan. Quotes of the week from scarlet:
"Podge, we've been on Devil's Ass crack road for an hour now and it smells!" "Where's the WASHROOM?!" "She lives in the calico shack!"
Old bessy is in her last days and we've basically found her replacement: a used but much younger, 2004 black-on-black mustang convertible. Me gusta mucho. We will need to have a memeorial service for the old girl who served us so well since i am pretty sure she'll be gone before i get home...and find a new name for the mustang :).
I talked to my parents about the ball and they think it'll be fine. Actually, my dad was quite enthusiastic about the whole dressed up thing. He promised that he'll have the backyard looking spify as long as the weather cooperates. | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |

| THANK GOD! These hellish 8 days are finally over! Just took my stats exam, and even though i have two class i have to go to, it's safe to say my brain has checked out for the next five days or so.
Last night at about midnight i went to print my bording pass and was given a nasty surprise...i couldn't. When i took the time to fine out why, it turns out when i changed my flight i thought i changed it to the 8:15 today and actually changed it to the 8:15 tomarrow. After freaking out about possibly having to stay another day and having no where to stay because the closed the dorms (i had been busy...i wasn't think), i woke my parents up at 12:30 for their credit card to change the flight. Unfortunately for them, it was alot easier than i thought and i didn't need the card because it didn't cost anything. Whoops. In any case, i jet outta BWI at 8:30 with Katherine Minahan to come home.
Gwen called me and, among other things, asked if loyola was catholic and why i would have a break for easter.
Sam was suposed to stay over here on sunday while driving back from florida. She never came. She never called. I tried to call her and couldn't get through. Anyone know what happened? | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |
| Happy St. Joseph's Day, bitches!
It's about as quiet as a grave yard around here right now, which is ok since I have alot of work to do and don't need any distractions. I got up early to read through king lear (again) and write notes for my paper, and now my mind is in revolt. I've read up to the fifth act, having read 1-3 without a break and four after lunch, and I can't bare to look at it anymore, but it has to get done today. Despite that, i am going down to the inner harbor in a half hour because the weather is incredibly nice and none of us can stand being inside for the rest of the day.
I watched "Saw" last night. Let me say, that movie is fucked up, but i like it! It's not really a horror movie, just suspense/psycological thriller type which I prefer anyway, and i recommend it. We rented from the freaky "Video american" up the street. It's a pretty cool store - got tons of foreign/independent films - but the place looks like a serial killer might live there and they are all organized by director, not genre, which makes them incredibly hard to find if you don't know all about it. I still need to see Malice. | comments: Leave a comment |

| The 1/8th of me that is Irish is wishing everyone a happy (and safe...respect the bubble! hehe) St. Patrick's Day!
I am astounded that down here no one has any clue what St. Joseph's Day is. They even celebrate that in New Orleans with a damn parade! Now, part of me is saying "These are the people that created a holiday called 'Maryland Day' that NO ONE has ever heard off and created state song to be sung only on that day to the tune of O'Tennanbaum - don't expect too much." They don't even know it falls between the two holidays. Uncultured I say, uncultured! I might have to sojourn all the way to Vaccaro's bakery in Little Italy to find myself a zapella (or zepolli - spellings and prnounciations vary). We did mr. larkin's favorite sonnet in literary history yesterday. I found it odd that the sonnet he bothered to tell us he loked so much (because it has the word "lark" in it) happens to be written by a man about loving another man so much that when you are in deep dispair, just thinking about him will make you like a bird singing sweet "hymns" (get the pun???) at heaven's gate. Now, i know very well that shakespeare probably wasn't gay (the last sonnets are clearly written by a man who had LOTS of crazy, lustful sex with a particularly lacivious dark haired woman) and that he is talking about the love of the man's mind...but is it not ironic?! Crazy Larkin! | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |

So i never updated since getting back to school, but I had a great time hanging out at elise's saturday night. It's too bad i missed all the INTERESTING stuff that happened after I left...
I love the Lolalites! newletter...the letter idea seemed to die out. We all need to have a meeting when we get home (since gwen WILL be coming home...)
I had never heard of Pi day until this week. Apparently our math department bakes delicious pies today and sells them on the quad. I would really like some pie but i think i missed the sale. BLAST!
I wish i had something interesting to update about, but alas nothing interesting has happened since i got back except professors giving me ridiculous amounts of work. I think they think the eight days been spring break and easter are a semester unto itself. Ugh.
Oh, my! look at the time! Go to run to English!
And happy pre-St. Patrick's Day! | comments: 4 comments or Leave a comment |
